Educación, movilizaciones de estudiantes y conflicto polí­tico en Chile y Colombia: algunas reflexiones desde una perspectiva comparada

Abstract

El año 2011 ha sido caracterizado como el momento de inicio de una ola de movilizaciones de contestación social y política a nivel global. Latinoamérica no ha sido la excepción, diferentes movimientos se han desarrollado en varias ciudades de la región, siendo los jóvenes uno de sus principales protagonistas. En este contexto, este artículo compara las movilizaciones de estudiantes en 2011 en Chile con el ciclo contemporáneo de movilizaciones estudiantiles en Colombia; dos conflictos sociopolíticos en los cuales los estudiantes han posicionado el problema de la educación superior en el debate público. En términos teóricos, se propone una reflexión mediante herramientas conceptuales del contentious politics approach, o enfoque de contienda política, en tanto contribución para el análisis comparado de movilizaciones sociales. El texto se estructura en tres secciones. En primer lugar, se presentan algunas características del modelo de contienda política, particularmente el concepto de “estructura de oportunidades políticas”. Luego se describe el desarrollo del problema educacional en Chile y Colombia. Finalmente, se analizan las movilizaciones estudiantiles como conflictos sociopolíticos en Chile y Colombia, y se discute, bajo una perspectiva comparada, acerca de las oportunidades sociopolíticas para el desarrollo de las movilizaciones en estos contextos nacionales diferentes.
