The fishing and ostreiculture activities practiced in the coast of the Eastern Amazon in the state of Pará, Brazil, became important to be inserted in rural education. Thus, this literature review aimed to realize a brief theoretical discussion about the important aspects of rural education in promoting the development of fishing and osteiculture. For the accomplishment of the literary research it was sought to explain the definition in education; rural education and valorization of the rural environment; environmental education as a transversal theme; fishing and aquaculture as a teaching strategy; considerations of fishing and ostreiculture; challenges and perspectives of the teaching of fishing and aquaculture in education; and booklet as a pedagogical tool in education. In conclusion, the use of fishing and ostreiculture as a strategy for rural schools through environmental education is important to foster fishing activity in communities, as well as the sustainable use of natural resources.

The adoption of innovative pedagogical practices is a trend that has generated new educational products, even in a pandemic context. Alternative teaching methodologies have provided students with new ways of learning during face-to-face, hybrid or remote teaching. The objective of this study was to produce didactic tools in aquaculture as a proposal for the Rural Education (CE) curriculum. Six aquaculture products were built, in the form of miniatures, with a view to using the curricular components of biology, physics, chemistry and mathematics in practical classes: i) aquaponics; ii) Secchi disk; iii) ichthyometer; iv) net; v) net tank and; vi) fishing net. The recommendation was to use them in an integrated, transversal, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary way in elementary school (final years). Such tools were of fundamental importance to integrate knowledge from local knowledge, where aquaculture is present in curricular components. These can be worked in an integrated way to Environmental Education (EA). Therefore, encouraging aquaculture in a playful way in rural schools means valuing the student as a subject in the process of building knowledge. In conclusion, the built tools showed positive results, presenting themselves as alternatives in the teaching-learning process.

The following article, whose nature is descriptive and bibliographic, aims, based on Goal eight of the National Education Plan 2014-2024 (PNE), to identify some indicators for the Countryside Education. For such purpose, we consider the educational reality of the countryside based on: the low schooling of the population; in the negative evolution of the enrollments number in the last few years; and in the circumstances through which the quality benchmark, provided by the Basic Education Development Index (Ideb), has been unproductive to the define public policies aimed for the Countryside Education. Despite the operational difficulties of the educational system to obtain the necessary information for its composition, the results of the last two Ideb, however, already show progress. Based on these indicators, we conclude that some actions aimed at increasing the schooling of the countryside population were undertaken, however, the unequal educational condition among young people living in the countryside and those who live in the urban areas still persists. There is a possibility of fulfilling the goal eight of PNE by 2024, however, this may not mean progress in guaranteeing the countryside population’s rights to an education of quality, but, on the contrary, its reduction.
