Abstract: The first issue of the year is always a good opportunity to take stock of a journal's progress. At the beginning of each January, the editorial team for the Journal of Place Management and Development (JPMD) always receive a Journal Performance Report for the last 12 months of activity. The figures relating to 2017 look encouraging. In terms of downloads of JPMD articles, we acquired 33,723 hits in 2017; up 8% on the previous year.
