A perda auditiva induzida pelo ruído (PAIR) é uma das doenças do trabalho mais comuns em nosso meio. Os profissionais de odontologia trabalham em ambientes com alto nível de ruído, portanto, são passíveis de apresentarem PAIR. Dessa forma, o objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar os limiares auditivos por meio da audiometria tonal liminar (ATL) em profissionais de Odontologia. A população deste estudo foi composta por um total de 30 cirurgiões-dentistas que atuam há mais de três anos na profissão, com idade máxima de 45 anos. Todos os participantes foram submetidos aos seguintes procedimentos: anamnese, meatoscopia, ATL, logoaudiometria e imitanciometria. Os resultados mostraram que 27% dos odontólogos apresentaram queixa de zumbido, 30% de insônia e 37% dor de cabeça. Quanto aos resultados da ATL, 17% apresentaram alterações auditivas nas freqüências altas, isto é, 3 e/ou 4 e/ou 6 kHz. Os achados justificam a necessidade da realização de exame audiométrico periódico e o uso de protetores auriculares para a manutenção da saúde auditiva e à diminuição dos sintomas associados. Evaluation of the auditory thresholds in professionals of odontologia ABSTRATThe induced auditory loss for the noise (PAIR) is one of the illnesses of the work most common in our way. All the participants had been submitted to the following procedures: anamnese, meatoscopia, ATL, logoaudiometria and imitanciometria. The results had shown that 27% of the odontólogos had presented humming complaint, to 30% of sleeplessness and 37% migraine. How much to the results of ATL, 17% they had presented auditory alterations in the high frequencies, that is, 3 and/or 4 and/or 6 kHz. The findings justify the necessity of realization of a periodic audio metrical exam and the use of the auricular protectors for maintain auditory health and reduce the associated symptoms.
