The Ministry of Tourism has created a 10-priority destination program in Indonesia. Pulau Seribu is one of the 10 destinations. Meanwhile, Bira Island is located in the Thousand Islands. To improve the performance of the Island, it is also necessary to increase the island of Bira. This mixed mode research, conducted for a year on the island of Bira to respond to the plans of the Ministry of Tourism. This study aims to discern Coastal Ecotourism in Bira Island, Indonesia. The results of data collection and tabulation show the existence of gap between the performances of the island at this time and expected. Ecotourism concept enhances CE performance on the island. In addition, the concept also creates jobs of women and anglers living along the coastline. Besides, environmental conservation efforts create marine ecotourism. Furthermore, their efforts also increase economic contribution to them and local governments. The economic improvement is accompanied by improved coastal environmental performance and improved performance of culinary and handicraft tourism.

Tourism sector becomes the largest foreign exchange contributor in 2020, and Indonesia has a number of tremendous natural and cultural potential to become a national tourism development asset. Even this potential could be a reckoned contributor to GDP, Foreign Exchange, and Employment. This study aims to respond Deputy of Business Market Segment and Government of Ministry of Tourism, and to behold Tanjung-Pesona coastal ecotourism. However, this fieldwork results show that the existing performance is in critical condition based on coastal-ecotourism. There are three main issues that should be addressed immediately. Firstly, enhancing community education on handling fragile ecosystems. Secondly, local government got to improve the performance of coastal carrying capacity, as well as sustaining local business model. Thirdly, they get to increase an incentive for supporting coastal environment protection program that would reduce carbon footprints and made it based on collective action. It would maintain the levels of financial stability too. The final solution of the local government to make the zoning of tourism, mining. In addition, there is the potential for regional culinary-ecotourism and fishing-ecotourism that can make a vibrant coastal-ecotourism in the islands. Besides, there are many traditional culinary options that can contribute economic to local people as sustainable local-business models. It's a unique food.

The development of cultural ecotourism became the mainstay of Head of Culture and Tourism of Banyuwangi Regency (HCTBR). The district had awarded by the UNWTO. It considered successful in driving tourism. This regency runs four key tourism strategies. One of the four strategies offers adventure and experience different cultural tours and sightseeing activities. This mixed qualitative and quantitative mixed mode study found many cultural potentials that have not yet been empowered. This indicates that HCTBR is not optimal in managing the cultural potential. The results of observations illustrate that the handling of cultural ecotourism has not been in line with the expectations of tourists. Interpretation becomes the most important issue in developing the potential for art and culture ecotourism. In addition, the potential for culinary ecotourism had developed to support the regional economy that creates sustainable livelihoods.
