A responsible business reflects the fundamental values of a society and is important for all enterprises. It can improve their economic, environmental, and social characteristics from a short- and long-term perspective through innovative products and services, new capabilities, and stakeholder involvement. This study aims to identify the common convergent factors of voluntary instruments in management systems to achieve sustainable business and competitive growth. There are several tools aimed at achieving sustainability and competitiveness, an important component of which is the subject of this study: the voluntary approach. To determine the key factors of this approach, we used the online questionnaire technique of data collection (n = 183). We also conducted exploratory analysis with factors estimated by the principal components and orthogonal rotation using the varimax method. Relevant driving forces are identified in the development of the business models of sustainability and competitiveness, including the integration of quality, environment and occupational safety and health management systems, the environmental profile of the organisation for economic and social affairs, voluntary reporting of environmental activities, and evaluation of environmental impacts. These factors make a significant contribution towards improving environmental sustainability while ensuring competitive business. The ability to move quickly and successfully to these business models is an important source of sustainable competitive advantage.

Green entrepreneurship has been increasing with growing attention to environment protection by a variety of stakeholders. Green innovation, as the essence of green entrepreneurship, has attracted a broad range of scholarly attention with yet inconclusive findings regarding its effect on firm performance. According to our analyses of 1667 firms listed on SME board and GEM in China during the period from 2010 to 2019, we find interesting results regarding the type of green innovation involved and the moderating effect of firm age on the link between green innovation and SME performance. More precisely, we find green utility-model innovation positively influences firm performance for SMEs, whereas green invention innovation does not contribute to firm performance overall. More interesting, our empirical results suggest that older firms benefit more from both green invention innovation and green utility-model innovation than younger firms. This research contributes to the literature on green entrepreneurship as well as green innovation.

Statistical Assessment of Business Intelligence System Adoption Model for Sustainable Textile and Apparel Industry

The textile and apparel industry is one of the biggest competitive industries in the world. Nowadays, industry 4.0 concepts put pressures on textile and apparel companies to integrate advanced technologies. Consequently, Business Intelligence (BI) systems are diffusing rapidly to process large data sets to harness the true value of smart technologies. Regardless of its potentials, most textile and apparel companies are lagging and hesitating to adopt this credible innovation in the presence of a high failure rate (70%-80%) especially in developing countries. To achieve the successful adoption of BI systems, statistical assessment is required to better understand this complex phenomenon. Therefore, a BI system model based on Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) is developed to evaluate the role of potential determinants pertaining to the users, technology, organization, and environment. Data were collected using a survey with self-administered questionnaires from decision-makers with authoritative designations in the textile and apparel industry, academia, and software companies. Influential relationships among critical determinants were assessed and validated by using Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) approach. The results of this study would contribute to the success of costly BI system projects and will motivate the industry experts to potentially assign investments for the BI projects in the developing countries to sustain in the competitive markets.
