“…[5,[85][86][87][88][89][90][91][92][93][94][95] resistance, which can be managed with intravenous vasodilators. Some applications of echocardiography in interventional procedures during pregnancy have been suggested in some case reports [104,105] but this findings merit further investigation. Patent foramen ovale (PFO) may predispose to paradoxical venous emboli crossing from the right to the left atrium during a transient right atrial pressure elevation.…”

“…However, patients with unexplained cerebral events have an elevated recurrence risk of cerebrovascular events regardless of the prophylactic antithrombotic therapy used. To prevent recurrent cerebral thromboembolism during pregnancy, delivery, and puerperium, interventional PFO closure can be performed without fluoroscopy under transesophageal echocardiographic guidance [104,105].…”

“…Experience of percutaneous PFO device closure during pregnancy is limited [26]; the use of the Amplatzer PFO occlusion device in pregnancy has been previously reported, as has the Gore Helex device in a series of three cases [27]. The novel choice of the Premere device has potential advantages in the unusual case of percutaneous device closure of PFO in pregnant patients.…”
