Easy-setup eye movement recording system for human-computer interaction

Abstract: Abstract-Tracking the movement of human eyes is expected to yield natural and convenient applications based on humancomputer interaction (HCI). To implement an effective eyetracking system, eye movements must be recorded without placing any restriction on the user's behavior or user discomfort. This paper describes an eye movement recording system that offers free-head, simple configuration. It does not require the user to wear anything on her head, and she can move her head freely. Instead of using a computer… Show more

“…Another method may be to try and reduce the complexity of the CNN's architecture as was suggested by Lotte et.al 2018 [6]. Either trials could in turn improve the model's ability to produce a higher and more consistent rate of accuracy, ultimately allowing the CNN model to be used to control a device or combine with other inputs of human [13] to carry out more complicated tasks.…”

“…In this paper, the eye gaze tracking solution could be implemented in a pure hardware way. Compared with the PC-based and DSP-based solutions [2][3] , the proposed solution could reduce the CPU / GPU load and reduce system power consumption and cost. Compared with the FPGAbased solutions [4][5] , the proposed solution had a faster eye gaze tracking speed (the eye gaze tracking speed of paper [4] is 62.5Hz and the speed of paper [5] is 11Hz).…”

“…A method for object tracking and detection is developed in [10] for maritime surface vehicle navigation using stereo vision system to locate objects as well as calculating the distance from the target object in the harsher maritime environment. A methodology of human computer interaction to compute eye movement by detecting the eye corner and the pupil center using visual digital signal processor camera is invented in [11]. The mentioned novel approach helps the users to move their head freely without wiring any external gadgets.…”
