Early detection of SARS-CoV-2 without human intervention to combat COVID-19 using drone technology

Abstract: Purpose The focus of the current study to combat the ongoing pandemic by preventing the transmission using the Unmanned aerial vehicle system. The transmission of the COVID-19 pandemic can be avoided only by finding the infectious person at the right time. Despite the thermal scanning camera and artificial intelligence technology, finding the infectious individual at many occasions has become questionable. Design/methodology/approach The drones are equipped with the thermal vision camera to detect the human … Show more

“…The disruption of supply chains, manufacturing processes, and international financial flows threatens to delay the deployment of solar and wind energy technologies. The use of new technologies such as UAV and artificial intelligence are needed for combating COVID-19 pandemic (Manigandan et al 2020b). The development and use of smart drones can help identify the infectious individual and help control the reproduction rate of SARS-CoV-2 extensively without human intervention.…”

Once the information is collected from such suspicious people, it is transferred to higher authorities for appropriate actions.…”

“…The novel coronavirus has an incubation period of 2 to 14 days, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), with symptoms appearing about 5 days after infection in most cases (Ma 2020 ). Fatality rate refers to the proportion of deaths due to the disease as compared to the people who have been diagnosed with the same (Manigandan, 2020 ; Manigandan et al 2021 ). The fatality rate shows the severity of the disease.…”
