The emergence of criminal bandits in the northwest Nigeria has further deteriorated the socio-economic growth of the region already crippled by Bokoharam insurgency and other security challenges. This article offers to interrogate the effect of banditry on socio-economic development of northwest geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The article adopts both descriptive and analytical research designs for collection and analysis of data. The findings of the study reveal among others that: banditry has negatively impacted on average per-capita income of the people, bandit activities have significantly affected human dignity among women and banditry has significant impact on food security. Consequently, the article holds the view that the region's socioeconomic development is still a long way off due to bandit operations. It recommends among others that in the envisaged new order, local government and traditional institutions should be actively and fully involved in security measure(s) against banditry in the region.

Within the first two years of COVID-19’s exposure, countries around the world mitigated, among other things, social mobility control, resulting in other limitations on fundamental rights, such as freedom of movement and peaceful assembly. Within the rights restrictions, the desire of citizens to satisfy their desire for information and exercise their right to free expression was insatiable. The authors argue that citizens deserve access to sufficient information in order for them to have a meaningful right to participate. At the same time, electronic means can be an additional feature to channel public participation in policy-making. Regrettably, the primary platform adopted in Human Rights laws in operationalizing the right to participate in public affairs remains minimal to coexist meaningful e-participation embarked on the adequacy of the right to information based on Human Rights (HR) standards. This study aims to answer how a justification for meaningful e-participation in law-making can be defined. It also queries which framework can provide sufficient public information based on a rights-based approach. The study leverages the convention of civil and political rights (ICCPR) as the primary legal instrument for a qualitative doctrinal approach. The study suggests that adequate information should be in one package with e-participation to optimize the enjoyment of the right to participate in policy-making. The study explored physical resource management practices in the Wolaita Zone government secondary schools. A descriptive survey design was used to attain the study’s stated objective. Both quantitative and qualitative method was employed in this research. Sample respondents were drawn by available sampling technique due to their direct relationship with the issue under study and hence to gain sufficient information. The data was collected through questionnaires, interviews, document review and personal observation. Data gathered through questionnaires were quantitatively analyzed using percentage and mean values. Moreover, the data gathered through interviews, open-ended questions, observation and relevant documents were qualitatively analyzed. Having gone through these, the study found that resource management functions such as planning, inventory, purchasing, maintenance, participatory management and budget allocation for the provision of the required materials were poorly implemented. Purchasing physical resources revealed weaknesses in quality, quantity, time and price. There was ineffective maintenance of physical resources, unqualified storekeepers, and a lack of proper follow-up are reasons for the damage and wastage of such physical resources. The inventory practice and using inventory reports for decisions in the school were poor. The storage management system was in poor condition in all schools. The lack of users’ technical skills was a significant challenge for managing physical resources. Significant challenges were due to a lack of good storing and disposal strategy, proper distribution, and poor close follow-up.
