Dynamic Resource Sharing in 5G with LSA: Criteria‐Based Management Framework

Abstract: Owing to a steadily increasing demand for efficient spectrum utilization as part of the fifth-generation (5G) cellular concept, it becomes crucial to revise the existing radio spectrum management techniques and provide more flexible solutions for the corresponding challenges. A new wave of spectrum policy reforms can thus be envisaged by producing a paradigm shift from static to dynamic orchestration of shared resources. The emerging Licensed Shared Access (LSA) regulatory framework enables flexible spectrum s… Show more

“…Masek et al [25] have enhanced the standard process of licensed Shared access in order to control the spectrum management system over the 5G network. A similar form of discussion has also been carried out by Sadreddini et al [26], where the mobile network operator concept has been used for performing the utilization of resources. Xu et al [27] have presented a mechanism of spectrum sensing where a time-varying channel has been used for the cognitive radio system.…”

“…Applying different importance degree for each criterion via 4 different scenarios, AHP can find which scenario is more appropriate based on the CR(µ) [25]. In each scenario, different degrees of importance of the criterion are considered based on its cost or benefit type [5].…”

“…The research conducted in [12] focused on maximum spectrum utilization and also energy efficiency, by considering some aspects of the CRSN. In [13], the authors provided a user satisfaction-aware approach for spectrum management, in order to achieve dynamic LSA management in 5G networks. The solution provided in this study aimed to balance both satisfaction of the connected user and the resource utilization in the context of the mobile network operator.…”
