Dynamic performance improvement of linear induction motor using DTFC method and considering end-effect phenomenon

Abstract: In this paper the control method of LIM which lead to optimal control characteristic of motor such as thrust, flux and current has been proposed. The performance of the proposed DTFC method has been analyzed with considering End-Effect. To evaluate and approve improved controlling characteristics, the results of the DTFC method have been compared with the results obtained from Indirect Vector Control (IVC). IVC is one of the conventional control methods for LIM. The obtained results from MATLAB/Simulink show t… Show more

“…A SVPWM method is employed for the inverter controlling by providing the required switching signals to it. The SVPWM technique was modified from the PWM technique for the three‐phase inverter using representation of space vector for in the α‐β plane . The stationary α‐β reference frame is accomplished when the transformation of three‐phase voltages takes place by Clarke's transformation.…”

“…On this basis, the state‐space equation of LIM is presented by Pucci to reflect the mathematical model of LIM [5] accurately. Pucci's model, due to its higher accuracy than traditional LIM model, is widely used in the field of LIM control application such as field‐oriented control (FOC) [6], direct FOC [7], direct torque and flux control (DTFC) method [8], neural network control [9], input–output‐feedback linearisation control [10], combined vector and direct thrust control [11], super twisting control [12]. Unfortunately, the speed measurement is required in these controllers to achieve great control performance.…”
