Dynamic Diagnosis Strategy for Redundant Systems Based on Reliability Analysis and Sensors under Epistemic Uncertainty

Abstract: Fault tolerant technology is often used to improve systems reliability. However, high reliability makes it difficult to get sufficient fault samples, resulting in epistemic uncertainty, which increases significantly challenges in these systems diagnosis. A novel dynamic diagnosis strategy for complex systems is proposed to improve the diagnostic efficiency in the paper, which makes full use of dynamic fault tree, Bayesian networks (BN), fuzzy sets theory, and TOPSIS. Specifically, it uses a dynamic fault tree … Show more

“…Duan 39 proposed a method to locate the fault of complex system by using DFT, BN, FST and MADM. This method made use of the advantages of DFT modeling, FST to deal with uncertainty, and TOPSIS method in BDD to find the optimal fault search scheme, which not only improved the efficiency of diagnosis, but also considered the fault location at the lowest cost.…”

“…Since the fault diagnosis and health management in real system are very complex with uncertain information, some efficient multi-criterion decision-making methods, such as analytic hierarchy process (AHP) [14][15][16][17] and technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS), 18,19 are also applied to handle fault diagnosis. [20][21][22] In addition, decision-making, optimization, as well as fault pattern recognition are often inevitable to deal with uncertain information.…”

“…On the other hand, surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), is an ultra-sensitive molecular spectroscopy technique that is free from water interference, providing a clear advantage for biological sample identification. The direct approach of optical biosensors involves measuring the optical properties of the analyte and the sensing environment, such as SPR biosensors, by changing the refractive index of the interface between the subject and the sensor (Duan and Fan 2015 ). SPR is an optical detection method that uses the principle of prism reflection and can track biomolecular interactions in real-time in their native state (Neethirajan et al 2017 ).…”
