Dynamic Characteristics Analysis of the Hub Direct Drive‐Air Suspension System from Vertical and Longitudinal Directions

Abstract: Hub direct-drive electric vehicles are driving with hub motors, which cause negative vibration directly on wheels and suspensions. To better analyze the problems of dynamic deterioration resulted by coupling excitations from random road and unbalanced magnetic pull (UMP), a cooperative hub direct drive-air suspension (HDD-AS) system is developed, and evaluation indices based on vertical and longitudinal dynamic coupling mechanism are proposed. The vertical and longitudinal characteristics in the time domain un… Show more

“…where i∈ (1,2,3,4) represents the dampers at four locations fl, fr, rl, and rr, respectively. Assuming that the consumption of the control system is involved in cost function and the power of the interconnected solenoid valve is denoted by E I , the operating cost function of the interconnected agent during each sampling interval is as follows:…”

“…us, more and more automobiles are equipped with an air suspension system [1]. Such excellent performance has attracted scholars to make a deep study on the height control and damping characteristics [2,3]. To further improve the comprehensive performance of air suspension, Higginbotham proposed a new structure of interconnected air suspension system (IASS) [4].…”

“…As a result, the vehicle's structure is extremely small. It does, however, meet the vehicle's stability and safety criteria [13]. The vehicle is equipped with a hydro pneumatic suspension system to improve the vehicle's vibration efficiency [14].…”

“…The pneumatic suspension system is not only used in passenger vehicles, but it is also widely used on special vehicles. According to [13], the pneumatic suspension system has been mounted in the hub of the electric vehicle, which uses the motor in-wheel. Therefore, the structure of the vehicle is very compact.…”
