Using rainwater harvesting (RWH) system is influenced by socioeconomic, environmental and technical factors. This work presents as analysis of the influence of the rainfall time series characteristics and design criteria on RWH performance of five Brazilian capitals with different climatic characteristic: Goiânia, João Pessoa, Manaus, Porto Alegre and São Paulo. The analysis combined different rooftop areas, storage volumes and the indoor and outdoor demands. Rainfall temporal discretization and the types of demands were the most important characteristics when assessing RWH reliability. Daily rainfall data were suitable for sizing the RWH, the time series length influenced the sizing of larger storage volumes, and the RWH efficiency was not significantly affected by the first-flush. Toilet flushing and the irrigation demands had the greatest impact on RWH performance. The greatest potentials for the implementation of RWH were observed for Porto Alegre, because of well distributed rainfall throughout the year, and for Manaus owing to higher annual volumes of precipitation. These results highlight relevant aspects that must be observed during the conception and design of RWH, complementing the guidelines provided in the Brazilian technical standards.

O artigo tenta provar que o poema “A Máquina do Mundo”, de Carlos Drummond de Andrade, foi parcialmente escrito a partir da reutilização de diversas metáforas, imagens e conceitos extraídos do livro O Mito de Sísifo, de Albert Camus. No intuito de demonstrar esta hipótese destacamos alguns excertos do livro de Camus e os cotejamos com metáforas e imagens análogas encontradas em “A Máquina do Mundo”. A conclusão a que chegamos é que Drummond reelaborou metaforicamente a filosofia do sentimento do absurdo em várias passagens do poema. Tal reelaboração intertextual, poética e metafórica se dera como uma resposta negativa e antitética à visão epifânica e cristã da criação universal descrita poeticamente por Jorge de Lima no Livro de Sonetos.

Este artigo tem como objetivo refletir sobre as especificidades do humanismo poético formulado por Carlos Drummond de Andrade através do poema A falta que ama, do livro homônimo publicado em 1968. Partindo de um diálogo com a Filosofia, nossa interpretação levanta como hipótese que o humanismo poético de Drummond se enuncia pelo realce à dimensão de limitação e contingência concernentes ao humano. Dessa forma, em desdobramento, o humanismo poético drummondiano confere significações singulares à concepção de amor, por ele entendido como uma experiência intersubjetiva na qual a falta ou insuficiência é elemento crucial, possibilitando a reelaboração permanente de um sujeito em função de aspirações e desejos por ele projetados em um outro, dinâmica por vezes dotada de reciprocidade afetiva e, portanto, de mútua transformação interpessoal. Com isso, consideramos ser possível vislumbrar, na poesia de Drummond, uma alternativa aos dilemas do autoencarceramento afetivo contemporâneo.
