Intertwined in a living world: The conversation about Ingrid Jonker on Instagram. Ingrid Jonker is a legend in Afrikaans literature who is sometimes compared with figures such as Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and James Dean. Because she is such an important figure in Afrikaans literature, the current study examines the conversation around her on the social media platform, Instagram. The current study conducts an analysis of hashtags used in conjunction with #ingridjonker in order to determine which texts, people, places, films, musicians, plays, visual arts, emotions and the like are associated with her on this platform. Her strong connection with André P. Brink is highlighted and it is also shown how she remains relevant across language and medium boundaries.

Purpose-The purpose of this research is to investigate some general features of folksonomies and user-generated content with copyright issues, and to present semantic representation for folksonomies using a tag ontology that can be used to represent tagging data at a semantic level using Semantic Web technologies. Design/methodology/approach-An exploratory study is described that features current social tagging methods and copyright metadata. In particular, a tag ontology is extended for representing copyright metadata across different platforms. Findings-The main finding is that Social Semantic Cloud of Tags can improve the expressive knowledge representation of folksonomies and that this ontology can aid in describing copyright metadata using some extended properties. Originality/value-The paper gives a valuable insight into representing folksonomies with Semantic Web technologies that enable the representation, exchange, and reuse of tagging data, and provides a way to reduce the risk of copyright infringements in the process of tag sharing in folksonomies.

World Crops: Cool Season Food Legumes

Large germplasm collections of each of pea, lentil, faba bean and chickpea are now maintained and have been described. The range in the morphology of these species for vegetative, root and reproductive characters is surveyed. Current breeding aims for the vegetative characters of growth habit, leaf type, plant height and lodging resistance are reviewed, as are the selection methods in use and the known response to selection. Amongst reproductive characters, the breeding for improved flower and pod retention, for a multipodded habit (either through an independent vascular system or otherwise), and for pod indehiscence is summarized for all four crops. The small amount of work done on root morphology is also reviewed.
