Drop rate optimization by tuning time to trigger for WCDMA systems

Abstract: Previous papers discuss the impact of soft handover parameters on soft handover probability and outage probability, by tuning time to trigger in Event 1A and time to trigger in Event 1B to be equal. However, they didn't consider the drop rate that operators care most. Therefore, we propose to have different time to trigger in Event 1A and time to trigger in Event 1B.
