“…People delivering their expression of anger during driving was calculated by using the Driving Anger Expression Inventory also known as DAX which consists of 49 items [8]. In this DAX the respondents were asked about the frequency of expressing their anger during driving on 4 points Likert scale that were measured from (1=almost never until 4=almost always).…”

“…There are four ways of anger expression while driving that produces score in the DAX. The ways people are expressing their anger are Verbally Aggressive Expression, Physically Aggressive Expression, Using the Vehicle for Aggressive Expression and Adaptive/Constructive Expression which are measurements of driving anger expression in the Driving Anger Expression Inventory (DAX), it was developed by Deffenbacher [7] and the DAX was then subjected to further items reduction to gain a shorter possible measure [8]. The DAX consisting of 25-items is an improvised version with a reworked set of questionnaire.…”

“…According to a study conducted in Turkey [14], a psychometric analysis of the scale showed that the Turkish-adapted DAX has the same factor structure; and that male drivers between 21 and 30 years old reported more physically aggressive expressions and used their vehicle to express more anger, whereas female drivers reported more adaptive/constructive expressions instead. In addition, based on the study in the USA [15] and the study in Malaysia [16], it was shown that young drivers are more likely to display anger and aggression. The research performed on the effects of driving experience on the DAS in New Zealand (NZ) [17] and in Malaysia [16] found that there was a negative correlation between drivers' driving experiences and the DAS.…”

Based on the study by Deffenbacher [12], conducted with college students from the USA, it was shown that high anger drivers reported expressing their anger more through verbal, personal, physical, and vehicular aggressive expressions and less through adaptive/constructive means, than would be found in low anger drivers.…”
