Background and Study Aim. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the relationship between the level of interest in physical education lesson and life satisfaction of students studying in secondary schools Material and Methods. The research group consisted of 421 students in total 52.3% (n=220) were male students and 47.7% (n = 201) were female students. Structural equation model was used in the analysis of research data. Results. The effect of interest in physical education lesson on life satisfaction was found to be 19.8% (R2 = .198, p <0.05). In the gender variable, the effect of interest in physical education lesson on life satisfaction in girls is 12.8% (R2 = .128), whereas it is 25.7 (R2 = .257) in boys. According to the model, as the level of interest in physical education lesson of students studying in secondary school increases, their life satisfaction increases. While it is concluded that the interest level of students studying in secondary schools in physical education and sports lessons positively predicts their life satisfaction, this rate is higher in male students. Conclusions. Since the participation of students in physical education and sports activities contributes to the multifaceted development and life satisfaction of students, it is necessary to increase the interest of students in physical education lessons and especially to engage female students. It is very important for physical education teachers to provide an environment for student participation in physical education and sports lessons. School-based interventions that can increase female students' participation and interest in physical education and sports lessons can be effective.

Metaphorical Perceptions of Secondary School Students towards Physical Education Teachers

As it is known, one of the most important factors of an education system is the teacher. According to Turkey’s education system, students first meet a physical education teacher in secondary school. Therefore, it is an important question that remains to be clarified what students who have just started secondary school think about their physical education teachers. In this context, the aim of the research was to examine the metaphors created by the students who have just started secondary school about physical education teachers. This research is a qualitative study designed by making use of the phenomenology pattern that examines the metaphors created by secondary school students about physical education teachers. A total of 65 students, 34 male and 31 female, participated in this research voluntarily. A structured interview form prepared to evaluate secondary school students’ perceptions of physical education teachers was used. In this study, content analysis technique was used in the evaluation of metaphors. When the research findings were examined, it was seen that 6 themes were created in total. Within the scope of these themes, it was seen that there were 12 metaphors in total. While the most metaphors were created under the theme of Superhero (29), the least metaphors were produced under the theme of Element (3). When the reasons for the themes created by the participants about physical education teachers were examined, it was determined that the students emphasized that physical education teachers are strong and athletic and also have various abilities. As a result, it was found that the justifications for all metaphors formed by secondary school students about physical education teachers were positive. Therefore, it can be said that secondary school students have positive feelings about physical education teachers.

The Perceptions of Five Years Old Group Students’ about Scientists

The purpose of this research is to reveal the perceptions of students of five years old group about scientists. The practice was implemented with 76 students having education in five-age group continuing to various nursery schools located in the center of Kastamonu province. Before starting the practice, the teacher asked the questions of "Who is the scientist?" and made them thought with the aim of ensuring the awareness of students against scientist. Afterwards, the researchers asked the students to narrate their pictures while they collect the drawings. The paintings were coded by the researchers by using the descriptive analysis method. The codification was made individually at first and then together with all the researchers with the aim of ensuring the reliability of research. In the light of collected information, it was generally seen in the pictures of students that the work environment of scientists is constituted by the space and world and their gender is generally men and also, there was a small number of women scientist profile. It was also determined that the students emphasized the extraterrestrial life and drew the scientists as similar to astronauts and they used space crafts and planets in their paintings. In another finding, scientists were seen as the people who mostly conduct research and use potion in general. Another attractive research finding is that; a small number of students draw the scientist as person who use computer and study lesson. In the light of these findings, it can be told that the students were affected extremely from their environment (the movies and cartoon they watched, their families, etc.…).
