“…Cyclosporine A impairs bone repair in critical defects filled with different osteoconductive bone substitutes intracellular protein that participates in the induction of differentiation and proliferation of T lymphocytes. 5,6 However, the use of cyclosporine A has also been related to the reduction of the expression of proteins related to the formation and maturation of bone tissue, 7,8 reduction of vitamin D levels, 7 reduction of osteoblastic differentiation and activity, 6,9 and an increased number of osteoclasts. 10 These effects of cyclosporine A may induce imbalance of bone turnover and, consequently, lead to a reduction of bone mineral density, 11 and fractures of the long bones.…”
