In doing so, I both build upon, and provide a point of departure from, Nagel's (2018: 1–2) recent lament that ‘scholars outside the field of missiology have given little attention to the ways in which mission experiences shape young American Christians’ understandings of themselves as members of, and active participants in, ‘a global field’.…”
