Abstract: Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the expression of cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) and its association with the development of premalignant lesions in gland structures of the endometrium in patients with uterine prolapse, a condition which exposes the uterus to mechanical and infectious stress.
