“…Relative ischemia and altered calcium handling can lead to an increased incidence of ventricular arrhythmia. Dobutamine can also be associated with severe eosinophilia and may be associated with tolerance during infusions of moderate or high doses lasting more than a few days 49 . The typical dobutamine dose is a continuous infusion of 2–15 μg/kg/min.…”

“…Eosinophilic myocarditis is a possible manifestation, presumably due to the heart's abundance of beta-1 receptors, leading to significant hemodynamic distress [ 7 ]. The diagnosis is made by linking the onset of eosinophilia with the timing of dobutamine infusion and ruling out other causes, confirmed by an endomyocardial biopsy when myocarditis is suspected [ 8 ]. Treatment is through dobutamine cessation, followed by steroid therapy in refractory cases [ 5 ].…”

“…On the other hand, short-term dobutamine infusion has been reported to be associated with a local reaction at the site of dobutamine infusion accompanied by eosinophilia. Such dermal lesions have been considered to represent hypersensitivity to dobutamine [4][5][6]. Therefore, eosinophils play a role in immediate and delayed hypersensitivity reactions, and both mechanisms may participate in eosinophilic endomyocarditis due to dobutamine allergy [3].…”
