“…A Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) approach can also enable PLS to simultaneously examine the measurement and structural models (Alshira'h et al 2020a;Gefen et al 2011;Lutfi 2020). Moreover, PLS can be applied for complicated models, which have a hierarchical structure, many indicators, relationships, and constructs (Alshira'h et al 2020b;Chin 2010;Lutfi et al 2016). Additionally, PLS resolves problems regarding small sample size and error terms and have fewer strict assumptions of normality distribution (Alshirah et al 2021;Chin 2010;Lutfi et al 2017;Sarstedt et al 2014).…”

“…In view of this, there are many data collection methods such as mail survey, Internet survey, phone survey, and self-administrated survey [32]. In this study, the self-administered approach is more common in the different contexts to achieve a large response rate, e.g., [33,34]. This is due to some limitations in selecting probability sampling, such as random sampling of Jordanian citizens, for example, the inability to obtain the listing of all Jordanian citizens' names and addresses, citizens scattered all around the country, the high cost of conducting the study in every city, and a hard time accessing certain groups or classes of citizens.…”

“…If every taxpayer has high awareness and compliance, then the tax revenue will be optimal, and its effect on state revenue will also be greater. Furthermore, according to Alshira'h et al (2021), tax knowledge has a moderating role in the association between socioeconomic factors and tax compliance. The second is a high sense of nationalism.…”

“…A high sense of nationalism and concern for the nations positively affect individual taxpayer compliance behavior (Krisna, 2020). Alshira'h et al (2021) also believe that patriotism and public governance increase and improve tax compliance. The sense of nationalism is fostered from an early age both in the environment and educational institution in building taxpayer awareness in paying tax.…”
