DNA marker identification of Rpv3 downy mildew resistance gene in seedless grape varieties

Abstract: Table grapes are a valuable dietary product. Seedless grapes are in high demand among consumers. For this reason, the breeding of seedless varieties is one of the popular trends in modern viticulture, along with the production of environmentally friendly products. Downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) Berl. & De Toni) is one of the most common fungal diseases of the grapevine. Most downy mildew resistant grape accessions belong to North American species like Vitis aestivalis Michx., V… Show more

“…We have already started research for searching gene Rpv3 donors and some of them are published [13][14][15]. A large work in this direction was done by Di Gaspero and colleagues: DNA-marker analysis of the Rpv3 locus in 580 genotypes of various origins [10].…”

“…Most of them are newly created hybrids between seed dessert and seedless varieties having complex pedigrees. This large polymorphism often complicates the economic and ampelographic classification of this group of varieties having great economic importance (Al-Obeed et al 2010;Correa et al 2014;Ilnitskaya et al 2019;Roychev 2019).…”
