Diversity of Ground-Dwelling Ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) in Phulchowki Hill, Lalitpur, Nepal

Abstract: The study assesses the diversity of ground-dwelling ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) in Phulchowki Hill, Lalitpur, Nepal focusing their species richness altitudinally and seasonally. Ants were sampled from June 2018 to February 2019using pitfall traps, bait traps and hand collection methods covering an altitudinal range from 1500 m to 2700 m in five selected sites (1500 m, 1800 m, 2100 m,2400 m, and 2700 m). A total of 1443 specimens representing four subfamilies, 12genera and 18 morph species were collected. Fo… Show more

“…Only a small number of species have been recorded from Nepal for several hyperdiverse taxa, Bharti et al (2016) presented hyperdiverse taxa, such as Pheidole, Camponotus, and Crematogaster indicating that actual richness has not yet been determined. However, because many ant species have only been identified up to a generic level (Neupane & Subedi 2018, Adhikari et al 2020a, the known diversity of ants is incomplete both at the provincial and national levels.…”

“…The flow overtime problem having zero transit times that reached to each of the pickup locations determines the maximum number of evacuees at every possible time instance from the beginning in the evacuee collection sub-network as in [4] and in [15]. That the earliest arrival evacuees at such pickup locations Y from the source s with zero transit times on the transformed network follows the principle of temporary repeated flows which is equivalent to the solution with arc reversal capability on the original network.…”

“…The performance and efficiency of the strategies for evacuation planning problems depend upon the nature of the road network, population density, the behavior of the population, and many other factors. It concentrates mainly to find the optimal use of vehicles and their appropriate assignment on the available network during their shifting from danger zones to safety as effectively as possible with utmost reliability, Adhikari (2018), andAdhikari (2020).…”
