Diversity of alien mammal species in different regions of Russia

Abstract: A map of diversity of alien mammal species in Russia has been created. The map shows that, in the second half of the 20th century, the mammal fauna in the majority of Russian regions changed as result of either deliberate or accidental delivery of different mammal species by humans and self broadening of their ranges. Among regions, the maximum number of alien species is noted in the south of the European part of Russia (27 species); Kamchatka ranks second (10 species).
