Character education becomes one of the contemporary concerns nowadays. This study aims to analyze the character education program at Public High School by using the CIPP model evaluation. Data in this study were collected through questionnaires, observation and documentation. The collected data was processed by univariate analysis with quantitative descriptive method. The results of the data analysis showed that the effectiveness of the character education program at Public High School from the four types of respondent groups all indicated the very effective category. The first group of educator respondents in the category is very effective in terms of the Context variable 88.20% of the Input variable of 81.27%, of the Process variable of 87.11% and of the Product variable of 81.65% simultaneously producing (+++ +). The second group of education staff respondents in the very effective category in terms of the Context variable is 85.66.% of the Input variable is 86.11%, the Process variable is 91.25% and the Product variable is 93.75% simultaneously producing (+ +++). The third group of student respondents in the very effective category in terms of the Context variable 91.78% of the Input variable of 86.63%, of the Process variable of 82.73% and of the Product variable of 86.66% simultaneously produce (++ ++). Furthermore, the fourth group of committee respondents in the very effective category in terms of the Context variable 82.08% of the Input variable of 83.71%, of the Process variable of 72% and of the Product variable of 89.15% simultaneously produces (++++).

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran STOVIA terhadap pendidikan di Indonesia. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode historis yang meliputi heuristik, kritik sumber, interprestasi, dan historiografi. Dengan adanya sistem Pendidikan barat membuat masyarakat lebih maju, dan tidak dapat dicegah oleh pemerintah kolonial Belanda. Keterbelakangan dan kebodohan yang terjadi pada masyarakat adalah akibat dari penjajah yang tidak mudah untuk diselesaikan. Kebutuhan yang mendesak pada saat itu menjadikan pemerintah Hindia Belanda mendirikan sekolah-sekolah di tanah jajahan salah satunya yaitu sekolah kedokteran. Adapun berdirinya sekolah kedokteran untuk mengatasi masalah-masalah kesehatan yang menyerang penduduk pribumi. Sekolah Dokter Jawa didirikan pada 1 Januari 1851 yang kemudian pada perkembangan lebih lanjut berganti nama menjadi School Fit Opleiding van Indische Artsen (STOVIA). Meskipun pada awalnya Sekolah Dokter Jawa atau STOVIA didirikan semata dikarenakan kebutuhan tenaga kesehatan yang terampil lagi murah juga keengganan dokter-dokter Belanda dalam mengatasi wabah yang terjadi di pulau Jawa. Namun kita tidak dapat memungkiri apabila pendirian Sekolah Dokter Jawa atau STOVIA merupakan landasan awal pendidikan kedokteran di Indonesia. Kata kunci: STOVIA,

Education is a very important factor for society in ensuring its survival. Education cannot be separated from its relationship with society. The problem is that there is a perception that education does not necessarily guarantee a bright future. This is evidenced by a large number of unemployed college graduates, which causes a wrong perception of education. From this background, the researcher wanted to discuss it in a thesis and took the Public Perception of Private Islamic Higher Education in Ngagrong Hamlet, Wonolelo Village, Sawangan District, Magelang Regency. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used are observation, interview and documentation methods, sorting them out to answer the problem formulation and then looking for and finding the meaning related to the problem formulation. The results of this study show that the perception of the people of Ngagrong Hamlet towards private Islamic religious higher education is quite good, that education can make their lives prosperous in the future. Therefore, this should be supported by quality abilities in the form of knowledge from higher education and the ability to practice in the community. Most public perceptions support their sons and daughters to pursue private Islamic religious higher education. The level of education of the people of Dusun Ngagrong is relatively high, although. However universities are still very minority, but the majority of the younger generation is now continuing their education from the junior high class, and upper middle class to college.
