Distributions of PCNA and Cas-3 in rat uterus during early pregnancy.

Abstract: Abstract:The aim of present study was to determine the distributions of proliferating cell nuclear agent (PCNA) and Caspase-3 (Cas-3) and their possible roles in implantation and decidualization during early pregnancy at immunohistochemical level. The tissue samples from pregnant animals between gestational days 1-5 were incubated by PCNA and Cas-3 antibodies and the obtained results were evaluated quantitatively. It was observed that PCNA immunoreactivity in uterine luminal epithelium and glandular epithelium… Show more

“…Furthermore, several studies have suggested that endometrial cell death is regulated by Caspase-3 during the menstrual or estrous cycle [113] and during early pregnancy [114]. In this study, we found that the miR-182 mimics increased the Caspase-3 protein levels at 48 h, and miR-182 inhibitors decreased the levels of Caspase-3.…”

“…Cas-3/PCNA balance in the luminal and glandular epithelium shifts death inducers after E3, and blastocyst implantation induces uterine luminal epithelial cell death and stromal cell proliferation around the embryo in the uterus (Oner et al, 2010). This present study considered the ratio of MOD PCNA /MOD TUNEL as indicative of the state of endometrial cell development.…”

“…The cell cycle regulators are critical for controlling the stromal cell proliferation and differentiation during the implantation stage [ 50 ]. PCNA (proliferating cell nuclear antigen) is a cell cycle promoting gene which was observed primarily in uterine luminal epithelium and glandular epithelium at pre-implantation stage and its expression level was increased gradually in stromal cells and myometrium with progressing gestation [ 51 , 52 , 53 ]. This increased expression of cell cycle-related genes at the time of Meishan embryo implantation suggested that the cell proliferation and differentiation in Meishan endometrium were associated with the embryo attachment.…”
