Distribution Route Optimization for Electric Vehicles in Urban Cold Chain Logistics for Fresh Products under Time-Varying Traffic Conditions

Abstract: Electric vehicles (EVs) have been widely used in urban cold chain logistic distribution and transportation of fresh products. In this paper, an electric vehicle routing problem (EVRP) model under time-varying traffic conditions is designed for planning the itinerary for fresh products in the urban cold chain. The object of the EVRP model is to minimize the total cost of logistic distribution that includes economic cost and fresh value loss cost. To reflect the real situation, the EVRP model considers several i… Show more

“…An integrated algorithm, combining an ALNS with a VND, is used as solving approach. Zhao et al [124] and Zhao and Li [122] propose E-VRPs with time-varying traffic conditions. The goal is to plan the routing of fresh products in the urban cold chain, which is affected by the road type, customer time-windows requirements, freshness of products, and in-route loading queues.…”

“…Chen et al studied the distribution of a variety of fresh agricultural products, formed a multi-chamber vehicle-routing problem, and established a cold-chain logistics distribution problem model with the objective of minimizing the total cost [ 5 ]. The minimum freshness requirement of customers has also been considered, and a two-level programming mathematical model was solved to optimize the cold-chain logistics distribution problem [ 6 ]. In view of the problem of high corruption and damage rates of fresh agricultural products occurring during the distribution process, related research has given some solutions.…”
