This study investigates the complex dynamics shaping the empowerment trajectories of female day laborers in rural areas of Bangladesh, as well as examining the engagement motivations, outcomes, and persistance challenges of the involvement. This study is conducted through a mixed-methods approach, and data was collected from 137 respondents through surveys and case studies in Bajitpur Municipality, Kishoreganj District. The findings reveal economic necessity and family responsibilities as the primary motivators compelling women into insecure informal labor. While day labor participation enabled some positive gains in income, confidence, mobility, and domestic decision-making, most women continued to face multidimensional difficulties, including income instability, violence, unpaid burdens, stigma, and harassment. The study reveals significant post-labor increases in financial independence (From 8.7% to 94.8%), household decision power (12.4% to 78.8%), and self-efficacy (24% to 90.5%), which overall indicate that female day laborers are being empowered after engaging the day labor works. However, over one-third still grapple with income instability, while 68.7% encounter social stigma and 72.7% experience harassment, signaling continuing disempowerment despite modest legal knowledge gains. The research points out that in the absence of greater systemic change, the inclusion of labor force is a necessary but inadequate condition for poor female day laborers in the absence of greater systemic changes and the inclusion of labor force for the transformation of alignment. It deeply demands integrated legal, economic, and infrastructure, with the cooperation of stakeholders in an ecosystem that supports rural female day laborers in all cases and helps the empowerment process in all spheres. Overall, the goal of this study is to explore the progress and the scenarios of the conditional empowerment of marginalized women workers, as well as the complex reality and continued obstacles, to inform the appropriate involvement in eliminating discrimination in their daily socio-economic progress on the basis of their self-demanding and living experiences.

The results of the calculation of the material and spiritual welfare of zakat recipients using the CIBEST Welfare Index come in at a score of 4, which means that based on the CIBEST index it is in the range of 0.61-0.80 or good, The results of this study are supported by research conducted by Kholis 2021 [30], Arifin, 2021 [31], and Sapingi 2018 [32] which examines the impact of zakat on the welfare of zakat recipients, although it does not specifically measure the welfare of recipients of entrepreneurship programs but it is concluded that zakat programs with the CIBEST model can reduce poverty of zakat recipient. Empowerment of the poor through entrepreneurship programs as one of the models carried out by zakat institutions in improving welfare and reducing poverty and long-term impacts. This study aims to determine the level of welfare of zakat recipients in the micro-entrepreneurship program in order to reduce poverty. The method used in this study is a mix-method that begins with interviews with the manager of Central Lazismu and zakat recipients of the micro-entrepreneur zakat program with 6 interviewees. Furthermore, the measurement of the level of welfare was carried out using the CIBEST model developed by Sauqi Beik and Arsyani (2016) and using SPSS 23 to examine the level of welfare before and after receiving the micro-entrepreneurship program from Central Lazismu. The sample used in this study was 333 people whose welfare level will be measured before and after receiving micro-entrepreneurial capital assistance. The results of this study conclude that presenting a micro-entrepreneurial mode assistance program to zakat recipients can improve the welfare of zakat recipients. The zakat recipients of the micro-enterprise program have increased their material and spiritual welfare. Furthermore, Lazismu's micro-entrepreneurship program assistance has proven to improve both material and spiritual welfare. Increased income provides material welfare, whereas zakat recipients benefit spiritually from daily worship activities. In general, implementing an entrepreneurship program can have a positive impact on the material and spiritual well-being of zakat recipients.

Rural women are the key players in agricultural development in Pakistan. Despite their considerable role as waged labourers, they are vulnerable under the broader patriarchal societal construct. Considering these facts, this study analyzed the socio-economic vulnerability of women-waged labourers in the agriculture sector in Punjab, Pakistan. A multistage sampling technique was adopted for sample selection. At the initial stage, Punjab province was selected purposively. In the second stage, three cropping zones (rice-wheat, cotton-wheat- maize and vegetable-mixed cropping), and subsequently, in the third stage, three districts (Nankana Sahib, Vehari, and Faisalabad) were selected purposively. Six union councils (two from each district) were selected randomly in the fourth stage. In the fifth stage, 450 respondents, 150 from each district, were interviewed using snowball sampling. A structured interview schedule was developed in accordance with research objectives. The data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The results indicated that the majority of the labourers, 55.0 percent, were 30 and above year’s age group, and 65.1 percent were illiterate. 70.0 percent of respondents were married, and 41.8 percent worked more often on 1-2 km distant agricultural farms. 46.4 percent spend seven and above working hours, and 35.4 percent’s daily wages were Rs. 251-300. 54.0 percent of respondents’ employers preferred the mode of payment as daily wages, while 69.1 percent of labourers preferred the daily mode of payment. 60.9 percent experienced gender disparity mainly due to socio-cultural aspects that contribute to their economic vulnerability. It was recommended that education facilities should be provided in such remote areas. Women’s work should be recognized by eliminating gender disparity in socio-economic aspects in particular and in all aspects in general to upgrade their socio-economic well-being.
