Distribution of Macrozoobenthos Species and Communities in Bulaksetra Estuary

Abstract: Distribution of macrozoobenthos species and communities is influenced by several factors, one of the very influential factor is the environment. This research aims to study the diversity and distribution patterns of macrozoobenthos and the environment conditions that influence it. Samples were taken from 31 research stations that spread along the Bulaksetra estuary. Determination of sampling points is done by randomly making zoning point so that the sample points can represent the characteristics of the entire… Show more

“…The marine area is still composed of five classes, yet the percentage is slightly different where Gastropods still dominate by 6.25%, followed by Malacostraca (9.9%), Polychaeta (2.8%), Bivalvia (1.03%), and Polyplacophora (0.04%). A species from the Gastropods class also dominates Bulaksetra Estuary (Krisnafi et al 2021). Echinoderms and Gastropods are the two major classes that make up the macrozoobenthos community in the coastal waters of Marsegu Island (Yunita et al 2018).…”

“…The high environmental variability and dynamism of estuarine environmental factors might stress these ecosystems and influence macrozoobenthic distribution, which is also influenced by the high degree of anthropogenic influences [10][11]. Previous studies on macrozoobenthic in the estuary and coastal waters in Indonesia were conducted in several locations, such as in the estuary of Donan River, Cilacap [12], Tanjung Pasir Coastal, Banten [13], Coastal Waters of Marsegu Island, Maluku [14], Semarang Coastal, Central Java [15], and Bulaksetra Estuary, Pangandaran, West Java [16]. Macrozoobenthic communities in the Kemayungan-Linduk waters, on the other hand, have never been reported.…”
