Distribution of Ada tasks onto a heterogeneous environment

Abstract: This paper describes the design and implementation of an Ada system for heterogeneous distributed embedded targets. It permits a single Ada program to run in a loosely coupled, heterogeneous multi-processor environment, enabling the development of a distributed system with Ada's full checking facilities, The units of distribution are task objects, and we examine the impact of this decision on program design.
