Distribution and Trophic Pattern of Non-Native Fish Species Across the Liao River Basin in China

Abstract: Controlling the invasion of non-native fish species necessitates a complete understanding of the distribution of these species and the key factors that influence such distribution. In order to research the situation of non-native fish and the relevant influencing factors in the Liao River Basin, we investigated and analyzed the characteristics of the distribution and the trophic levels of non-native fish species, as well their response to different types of factors in the basin. Nine non-native fish species we… Show more

“…The expansion of the invasive sh species could result in reduced abundance of native sh and species diversity, and lead to the extinction of native sh species (Gaye-Siessegger et al 2022; Zhao et al 2019). This phenomenon is exempli ed by the unfortunate loss of native sh species such as Adrianichthys kruyti and Xenopoecilus poptae in Lake Poso, attributed to the introduction of Nile Tilapia (Yanuarita et al 2020).…”

“…Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the detection of aquatic biodiversity and the investigation and research of invasive species distribution in the Liaohe River National Park. At the same time, it is also very important to carry out the investigation and management of breeding and trading conditions (Zhao et al, 2019). OTU upset of different sampling stations in Liaohe National Park.…”

“…Therefore, comprehensive knowledge of the species distribution patterns of recently populated areas is of both theoretical and practical importance. However, several challenges remain due to methodological and data limitations (Alonso, 2019 ; Jarrad et al, 2015 ; Rosenberg & Anderson, 2016 ; Zhao et al, 2019 ). For example, simple visual observation may result in misidentification of distribution patterns; an agglomeration of isolated patches situated close to each other may appear to be continuous front spatial distribution, even though it is actually a patchy spatial pattern (Petrovskaya & Zhang, 2020a , 2020b ).…”
