Distributed Route Selection Algorithm in Nested Multihomed Mobile Networks

Abstract: The present work is a distributed route selection algorithm in nested multihomed mobile networks. The mobile network node sends a request message to all leaf mobile routers inside the mobile network to initiate a session. All leaf mobile routers execute route selection algorithm to select the best route for the desired session of the mobile network node and send the best route to the mobile network node. The mobile network node transmits the packets corresponding to the desired session using the best route to … Show more

“…The researchers in [27] and [28] presented a network performance based selection algorithm with a per-flow traffic control. It addresses a comprehensive multihoming solution to take into consideration various metrics including bandwidth, delay, packet loss, and path cost for understanding the performance of each path in the network.…”

“…Reference [7] proposed a multihoming path discovery and selection solution on top of an optimised Nested NEMO model based on the Reverse Routing Header (RRH) protocol, multihomed using the MCoA protocol. In [8], a MR within a Nested NEMO network can select the best path among those available, using the proposed path selection algorithm. The decision is made according to the requirements of the current communication of a MMN connecting to it.…”
