This study aimed to evaluate the effect of horizontal plate meter with oblong holes operating with one or two seed outlets at different speeds over the accuracy of longitudinal distribution of common bean seeds (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). The experiment was performed in laboratory using the meter with one and two seed outlet points in relation to ten tangential disk plate speeds (0.03 to 0.30 m s -1 ). It was used a complete randomized design with four replications, summing up 80 experimental treatments. Tangential speed quantitative factor was estimated through a 2 nd order polynomial regression. There was no significant difference in the behavior of the seed meter operating with one or two outlets in the metering of bean seeds in all tested speeds, with percentage of single seeds spacing over 60% in tangential speeds below of 0.24 m s -1 .KEY WORDS: agricultural mechanization, precision planters, percentage of single. O experimento foi realizado em laboratório, utilizando-se de dosador com uma e duas saídas de sementes, em relação a dez velocidades periféricas do disco horizontal, variando de 0,03 a 0,30 m s -¹. O delineamento experimental foi o inteiramente casualizado, com quatro repetições, totalizando 80 tratamentos. O fator quantitativo referente à velocidade periférica do disco dosador foi estimado por meio de regressão polinomial de segunda ordem. RESUMO:O trabalho foi conduzido no Laboratório de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento de Máquinas Agrícolas -LASERG, localizado na Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, com o auxilio de uma bancada que reproduz, artificialmente, as condições operacionais sob as quais a máquina efetua a semeadura no campo. Utilizou-se o delineamento experimental blocos casualizados com parcelas sub-subdivididas, com três fatores experimentais: inclinação transversal do dosador com três níveis (±11° e nivelado), velocidade de deslocamento com três níveis (1,39;2,08 e 2,78 m s -1 ) e três dosadores de sementes pneumáticos. As sementes utilizadas foram girassol e algodão e realizou-se a medição de 250 espaçamentos entre sementes que foram medidos com o auxílio de uma trena de 30 m esticada sobre a esteira. Para a regularidade de distribuição avaliou-se o nível de espaçamentos aceitáveis, duplos e falhos, e o coeficiente de variação dos dados coletados na esteira de sementes. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de variância (ANOVA). Os resultados obtidos mostram que o aumento da velocidade de semeadura influiu significativamente nos resultados médios de espaçamentos aceitáveis e falhos, além da precisão. CROSS SLOPE EFFECT ON PNEUMATIC SEEDS FEEDERS PERFORMANCE AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS OPERATIONABSTRACT: Our objective was to evaluate the influence of cross slope on the performance of pneumatic seeds feeders under three forward speeds. To perform this study, we used a bench that artificially reproduces the operating conditions of a sowing machine in the field. We used a randomized block design with sub-split plots, with three experimental factors: cross slope of the feeder with three levels (± 11 ° and leveled), travel speed with three levels (1.39, 2.08 and 2 78 m s-1) and three pneumatic seed feeders. There were used Sunflower and Cotton seeds and there were evaluated 250 spaces between deposited seeds which were measured using a tape of 30 m. To regulate the best performance, the space distribution and the space between seeds data coefficient of variation were generated. The data was subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results show that increasing the speed of the planter significantly influenced the average of the space between deposited seeds average; in addition, it also influenced the precision. There was no significant difference between the cross slope factor.

ABSTRACT:One of the reasons for the success of a productive culture is the correct sowing. Therefore, the seeds must be properly dosed, deposited and not damaged by the metering mechanism of the seed drill. So, the aim of this study was to evaluate in a simulator the sorghum seed deposition by a metering mechanism with continuous flow in different conditions of slope and sowing speed, and evaluate the quality of the deposited seeds assessing mechanical damage and germination. The experiment was carried out at the College of Agricultural Sciences, UNESP in Botucatu-SP, being used a simulator equipped with seed metering mechanism of helical channelled rotor type. The experimental design was randomized in a 3 x 2 factorial arrangement with six replications. The factors were three lateral slopes drill, 3%, 8% and 16%, and two sowing speed, 4 and 10 km h -1 . For the damage and germination variables we added a control treatment whose seeds were evaluated without being distributed by the metering mechanism. The results indicate that increasing the lateral slope and working speed reduce the rate of seed deposition. The metering mechanism provides mechanical damage and contributes to the reduction of seed germination.
