Distinctions of the Results of Automated Analysis and Microscopic Blood Investigation (Examples of Clinical Cases)

Abstract: There are cases of discrepancies between the results of a microscopic examination of blood cells by morphological physicians with data obtained using an automatic analyzer in patients with a hematologic profile. It is shown that in some cases the analyzer does not determine changes in the morphology of erythrocytes, allows errors in calculating the leukoformula, differentiation of cells according to the degree of maturity, and evaluation of the number of platelets.
