“…CuCl 2 AE2H 2 O and K 3 Fe(CN) 6 were purchased from Merck (Germany), AA was obtained from Sigma (Germany). Enzymatic test kits for the determination of L-ascorbic acid in foodstuffs by a colorimetric method were obtained from Boehringer Mannheim/R-Biopharm (Germany).…”

“…Before use, the electrodes were electrochemically pre-treated by cycling between 0 and 1 V versus a saturated calomel electrode (SCE) in 0.05 M KCl solution for five to ten cycles until stable cyclic voltammograms (CVs) were obtained. Copper hexacyanoferrate was deposited from a solution containing 10 mM Cu 2+ , 10 mM K 3 Fe(CN) 6 , and 100 mM KCl by one of three methods: chemically, by immersing the electrodes for 50 min in the solution of the precursor salts; galvanostatically, by applying a current of À100 mA cm À2 for 300 s; by cycling the potential 25 times between +0.25 and +0.90 V at a scan rate of 50 mV s À1 . The electrodes were then dried with a stream of hot air, and left at room temperature for 48 h to stabilise.…”

“…Various techniques have been documented for accurate and specific detection of ascorbic acid which include titrimetry with an oxidizing agent [9], capillary electrophoresis [10], spectrophotometry [11], fluorimetry [12], chromatography [13,14], electrochemistry [2,15] which were commonly focused on the analysis of AA in pharmaceuticals and food products. Amongst, electrochemical techniques have extensively been preferred due to its simplicity with respect to time consuming sample pretreatments involving techniques, and their low-cost instrumentation, portability, rapid response, high sensitivity and suitability for in-situ detection in real samples [2].…”
