This research study aimed at enhancing English language learners’ writing skills to promote communication among them. The process involved five weeks of applying and practicing the stages of the writing process. Twenty-nine high school public EFL students participated in the investigation. They had an A2 – B1 level of proficiency and faced challenges at writing complete and consistent paragraphs. Peer feedback facilitated by Google Docs provided students with opportunities for practicing, interaction, communication, and reflection. The instruments were a pretest-posttest to measure students’ writing improvement. Pre-post surveys were applied to collect the perspectives of students towards peer feedback. Field notes were completed during the group tasks to analyze students’ difficulties in writing activities. Findings report higher scores in the posttest, and a Cohen’s d = 2.98. This suggests that the application of peer feedback in the writing process helped learners improve the quality of their written compositions. Students’ perspectives indicate that this intervention raised their self-confidence, peer communication, and motivation. The difficulties that were observed at the beginning were overcome at the end of the intervention.

Teaching writing for young learners (YL) needs unique strategies from each teacher. The purpose of this study is to help teachers explore strategies for teaching writing for young learners. The survey was used with a descriptive-qualitative method which was carried out by giving an open-ended questionnaire to five English teachers and tutors from a different institution. Then, the most appropriate strategy could not be generalized because there are different conditions of students' and teachers' qualifications. However, teachers must pay attention to three aspects of teaching such as understanding the characteristics of students, developing fun ways of learning, and peer feedback strategies. Teachers must be able to evaluate whether or not the strategy they provide can produce good results. From this research, with the exploring three different teachers' strategies in teaching writing, most of the students have succeeded in the minimum passing grade in each class. Furthermore, this paper pursued teachers to be able to design teaching writing for young learners in the right ways.

Introdução: Este estudo foi realizado em um instituto tecnológico público em Guayaquil, Equador. Objetiva melhorar as habilidades de escrita por meio da colaboração entre estudantes através de Padlet. Participaram 18 estudantes matriculados no primeiro semestre. Metodologia: A aplicação do estudo concentrou-se em uma abordagem construtivista na qual os alunos puderam compartilhar ideias; dar e receber feedback entre colegas e professores; e construir seu próprio conhecimento e entendimento. Esta investigação durou mais de vinte e quatro horas/aula. Emprega um método quantitativo. Diferentes instrumentos, como pré-teste, pós-teste e questionários foram utilizados para a coleta de dados. Resultados: Após a prática, os alunos apresentaram uma melhora de cerca de 11 pontos no pós-teste em comparação ao pré-teste. O resultado deste estudo obteve um d = Cohen de 1,22. Conclusão: O questionário aplicado confirmou que os alunos identificaram a escrita colaborativa em Padlet como útil e enriquecedora. Esta pesquisa é dirigida a professores e diretores envolvidos no campo da educação de EFL que desejam melhorar suas práticas de ensino.
