Disaster Warnings in Your Pocket: How Audiences Interpret Mobile Alerts for an Unfamiliar Hazard

Abstract: This study investigates how people interpret Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEAs) andTwitter-length messages ('tweets') delivered over mobile devices for an unfamiliar hazard.
