O presente estudo teve como objetivo investigar o impacto do enchimento do reservatório de uma usina hidrelétrica sobre as taxas de dinâmica do componente arbóreo em uma floresta adjacente. Para isso, foram alocadas 48 parcelas em três setores do fragmento: adjacente às margens do reservatório, meio da encosta e topo da encosta. Um ano após o enchimento do reservatório, todos os indivíduos arbóreos com circunferência a altura do peito (CAP) ≥ 15,7 cm foram avaliados (identificados e mensurados), e dois anos após o enchimento foi realizado o estudo de dinâmica, com as árvores sobreviventes remedidas, as mortas quantificadas e as recrutas incorporadas. Foi realizado o levantamento das variáveis ambientais edáficas, topográficas, de abertura do dossel e de impacto ambiental. Foram calculadas as taxas de dinâmica. Para ordenação das variáveis ambientais foi aplicada uma Análise de Componentes Principais (PCA) e a influência de gradientes ambientais sobre as taxas demográficas da comunidade foi verificada por meio de regressão logística. A dinâmica apresentou estabilidade no número de indivíduos, porém, com maior ganho (3,64%.ano-1) que perda (1,62%.ano-1) em área basal. Entre os setores houve distinções, sendo o setor 1 caracterizado pela maior taxa de perda em área basal (2,51%.ano-1). Houve pouca relação das taxas demográficas com as variáveis ambientais analisadas, indicando que a maior influência encontrada sobre o crescimento das árvores está associada a variáveis não mensuradas. O presente estudo indica que, dois anos após o enchimento do reservatório, foi possível perceber os primeiros efeitos da influência do lago da hidrelétrica na comunidade arbórea.

ResumoObjetivou-se inferir sobre os mecanismos de invasão (oportunismo x competição) de Ligustrum lucidum em um fragmento de floresta com araucária em Lages, Santa Catarina. O fragmento foi inventariado nos anos de 2012 e 2015, por meio de parcelas, onde foram avaliados os indivíduos arbóreos com DAP maior ou igual a 5,0 cm. As parcelas foram classificadas em invadidas (I) e não invadidas (NI) por L. lucidum e foram calculadas as taxas de dinâmica para a comunidade e populações. A influência de L. lucidum sobre as taxas da comunidade foi investigada por meio de regressões logísticas e o padrão de coexistência das espécies nos setores I e NI pelo índice de c-score. No fragmento, foram observadas maiores taxas de recrutamento do que mortalidade e maior ganho do que perda em área basal. A comunidade apresentou maior recrutamento nos locais com maior abundância de L. lucidum. Enquanto nas parcelas NI observou-se a segregação espacial das espécies, nas parcelas I as mesmas ocorreram de forma aleatória. Conclui-se que L. lucidum está aumentando sua importância relativa na comunidade, estando associado a parcelas desestruturadas em relação ao padrão de co-ocorrência das espécies, o que sugere seu caráter oportunista. AbstractThe objective of this study was to infer the mechanisms of invasion (opportunism vs. competition) of Ligustrum lucidum in an Araucaria Forest fragment, in the municipallity of Lages, SC. This fragment was inventoried in 2012 and 2015, through plots, where tree individuals with dbh greater than or equal to 5.0 cm were evaluated. The plots were classified as invaded (I) or non-invaded (NI) by L. lucidum and the dynamics rates were determined for the tree community and populations. The influence of L. lucidum presence on demographic rates of community was evaluated by logistic regressions and the evaluation of species coexistence in I and NI sectors was performed by c-score index. In fragment, the recruitment rate was greater than mortality and basal area gain rate was greater than basal area loss. The community had a greater recruitment in plots with high L. lucidum abundance. While there was spatial segregation of species in NI plots, there was random pattern in I plots. We conclude that L. lucidum is increasing its relative importance in community, being associated to plots with random species co-occurrence, suggesting its opportunist nature.

Temporal Behavior of Tree Communities in Different Soil Classes

The objective of this work was to evaluate if the soil heterogeneity expressed by the different soil classes would condition tree communities with different dynamic behaviors. The data were collected from 25 plots sized 20 × 20 (400 m²), 10 of them with Inceptisols, 9 with Ultisols, 5 with Entisols B and 1 with Entisols A. All individuals with DBH ≥ 5.0 cm in the plots were sampled in 2000, 2005, 2009 and 2015. Rates of mortality, recruitment, gain, loss and turnover dynamics in number of individuals and basal area were estimated for each soil class. The tree communities present in the soil classes showed no differences in the dynamic behavior to the point of expressing edaphic fragment heterogeneity. The differences are associated with stochastic fluctuations in rates caused by small disturbances, suggesting little influence of the soils on the dynamics of small-scale communities.
