Digital terrestrial broadcasting antennas -4-Plane synthesis pattern and gain improvement-

Abstract: This paper is 4-element modified with reflector as an antenna for digital terrestrial broadcasting. The element deformation batwing antenna is proposed. Input impedance got 50 Ω and wide-band characteristics in the simple power supply construction. In this paper, parallel combination batwing antenna of the 4-plane synthesis directionality was examined. The batwing element is arranged and is coupled in parallel, and the feed interval is half-wave length. Simple power supply construction and high-gain and wide-b… Show more

“…The proposed antenna shows the widest relative bandwidth compared with other designs for the VSWR < 1.13. In the item of peak gain, the proposed antenna is larger than the antenna in [7], [11]- [14]. For the HPBW in the xoz plane at the center frequency, this design shows the wider HPBW in the xoz plane than the others, which can cover a broader area.…”

“…Over the past decades, a variety of classic DTV transmitting antenna implementations have been proposed, such as ring loop antennas [7], [8] and modified batwing antennas [9]- [11]. Since simple feeding structures are employed, these wideband antennas with high gains are widely applied in the early DTV system.…”

“…In , the authors proposed the four‐element modified batwing antennas with unbalanced feeding input without the balun and impedance matching circuit. Nonetheless, it is only suitable for TV broadcasting in Japan (470–770 MHz).…”

“…In this study, a thin brass bowtie structure using incision gaps technique is proposed for DTV base station. In [12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19], different types of broadcasting antennas for base station were developed and proposed. The antennas in [12][13][14] are a balance fed modified batwing radiator which could achieve the broadband characteristics appropriate for DTV applications.…”

“…In [15,16], the unbalance fed modified batwing antennas are proposed which do not use the balun and the impedance matching circuit. As a result, the broad range frequency coverage was obtained; however, these antennas are only suitable for the Japanese ultra-high frequency (UHF) band of 470-770 MHz.…”
