Digital library service model for predictive analysis of user satisfaction based on multivariate fuzzy logic

Abstract: Purpose This paper aims to evaluate the user satisfaction criterion for qualitative assessment of timeliness and efficacy of digital libraries based on the multivariate fuzzy logic technique. Design/methodology/approach In this paper, the performance of digital library services using fuzzy logic modeling are evaluated. This model based on fuzzy logic control is used to compute the dynamic response of users by using multiple independent variables. These parameters with inherent uncertainties in practical scen… Show more

“…Development of repositories, storage of educational materials, smart library services, digital resource sharing, and rapid location of resources within a taxonomic structure provided perceived usefulness to the library professionals to revamp library services through the adoption of semantic technologies (Garcia et al, 2017;Fox, 2006;Khan et al, 2022). SDLs provided controlled access to clients according to their credentials (Dasgupta et al, 2015); information access tools are provided to the end-users (Mehta, 2021); documents are preserved efficiently (Lee, 2011); the interaction is done with a larger set of users (Morato et al, 2013). Factors of low cost, high performance, scalability (Hsu et al, 2014); value-added services, user-centric interface (Solomou and Koutsomitropoulos, 2015); efficient retrieval, high precision, intelligent platform (Su, 2021) enhanced peer communication and sharing knowledge.…”

“…Integrated semantic digital libraries provide human-computer interaction and enable patrons to retrieve required documents via user-friendly interfaces (Garcia et al, 2017). Fuzzy techniques are used to assess the information needs of the users and software quality are ensured for the dissemination of quick innovative services (Mehta, 2021).…”

“…The model is verified by varying the size of autonomous data repository to a maximal value of 50. The sample dataset comprising of a wide range of independent library attributes represented in Table 3 is used for the validation process of the proposed fuzzy-based model [13]. The last two columns of the table delineate the actual output and the corresponding approximation of the predicted output value obtained using the presented fuzzy estimation.…”

“…In our previous work [13], the efficiency of digital libraries using multiple-attribute fuzzy logic modeling scheme is computed through the estimation of various error performance predictors. The online learning content and transactional data analysis for an educational digital library is performed to ensure autonomic recommendation with high level of accuracy [11].…”

“…Public libraries provide public welfare services, which vary from region to region [17][18][19][20]. Based on the theories of public products and fairness, Karna et al [21] quantified and empirically analyzed problems like the supply equalization of public libraries and formulated a solution from both input and output.…”
