“…Additional indocyanine green angiography was therefore perfomed. Conclusions: Indocyanine green angiography could be a useful tool for the detection of subretinal nematodes.Abbreviations: ICGA -indocyanine green angiography; DUSN -diffuse unilateral subacute neuroretinitis; SLO -scanning laser ophthalmoscope.Diffuse unilateral subacute neuroretinitis (DUSN) is a clinical syndrome characterized by early visual loss, vitritis, papillitis, retinal vasculitis and recurrent crops of evanescent grey-white outer retinal lesions and later, by progressive visual loss, optic atrophy, retinal vessel narrowing and diffuse RPE degeneration occurring in one eye of otherwise healthy patients [1]. The diagnosis of this syndrome is sometimes difficult because the nematode cannot be seen in the subretinal space.…”

“…The appearance of sub-RPE serpiginous tract in infero-temporal retina presumed to be inflammation of the RPE and surrounding tissue induced by worm migration, peripheral RPE hypopigmentation and good clinical response to anti-helminthics [2,3] in combination with steroids but not with steroids alone support the diagnosis. This case highlights the need for a high index of suspicion in making the diagnosis, eradicating ocular inflammation and salvaging vision.…”

“…It is considered a zoonosis and has been reported rarely from only a few countries. The first report was nearly three decades ago by Gass et al [1]. DUSN is said to occur most frequently in the second to third decade.…”
