“…fertilizers) or exposure to abiotic stresses (e.g. drought and salinity) (Li et al, 2013;Xiang et al, 2013;Zhao et al, 2013). Flour mainly consists of the embryo and endosperm, both of which can accumulate flavonoids during seed development.…”

“…Thus, we suggested that between transcript levels involved in anthocyanin biosynthesis and anthocyanin accumulation have correlation in the red-flowered buckwheat flowers. 34) In F. tataricum Hokkai T10 and Hokkai T8 cultivars, Li et al 35) described that flavonol synthase1 showed the highest transcript levels in the flowers (mixture of flowering stages) than in any other organ (e.g., leaves, stems or roots) and amount of quercetin and kaemperol were significantly higher in the flowers of Hokkai T10 cultivar. According to these result, between gene expression of genes related and flavonoids biosynthesis have correlation in the flowers.…”

“…Flavonol Synthase, as a key enzyme involved in the flavonol biosynthetic pathway, has been studied in many plants (Li et al, 2013;Toh et al, 2013;Takahashi et al, 2007;Falcone Ferreyra et al, 2010;Xu et al, 2012;Mahajan et al, 2011). In plants, flavonol synthase could catalyse flavonoids synthesis.…”

“…Flavonol synthase also could play an important role in the physiological activities of plants. In tartary buckwheat, different FtFLS isoforms of buckwheat have different functions in the response to environmental stress; transcription of FtFLS1 was inhibited by the exogenous application of ABA, SA and NaCl, while FtFLS2 was not affected by ABA but up-regulated by SA and NaCl (Li et al, 2013). In A. thaliana, 6 FLS isoforms were identified from A. thaliana that exhibited tissue or cell type-specific promoter activities.…”
