Different responses in mutagenesis induced by quinolone antibacterial agents in two Escherichia coli WP2uvrA/ pKM101 strains

Abstract: -Escherichia coli WP2uvrA/pKM101 strain obtained from a different supplier had a lower response to quinolone antibacterial agents (quinolones) when compared to an ordinary responsive strain. The present study was designed to examine the mechanism of lower susceptibility of the new strain to quinolones. A reverse mutation assay showed the new strain was low responsive to six quinolones compared to a responsive strain, while there was no difference in sensitivity to antibacterial activity of quinolones or the mu… Show more

“…36 Furthermore, some antimicrobial reagents such as quinolones have been reported to induce SOS response and mutation through an error-prone repair pathway. 37 In our in vitro and in vivo studies, we showed that no mutagenicity and genotoxicity proceeds on CAPE-Suture (Table 1 and Fig. 6).…”

“…The polyhistidine (His)-tagged proteins interact with both nickel ions (Ni 2+ ) and bulk nickel particle (Ni) surfaces. [31][32][33] Hence, as-prepared Ni 2+ -MMS and Ni-MMS can be introduced into the selective binding and magnetic separation of His-tagged proteins. To synthesize the six Histagged enzymes, the catA gene in C. glutamicum was cloned under a lac promoter, which allows gene expression in the presence of isopropyl-b-D-thiogalacto pyranoside (IPTG) of pET-21a, and is named pSY-Cat (Fig.…”

“…10 Furthermore, it has been reported that solution pH affects the degree of ionization and speciation of nickel ions. 33,34 In this study, the effect of pH on the His-tagged protein adsorption was investigated for the HMMSs. Fig.…”
