Different degrees of overweight: anthropometric indices in patients with coronary heart disease

Abstract: HRCA distribution varied among obese male patients. According to the different methods of measurement, obesity percentages varied from 4- to 5-fold among men and 3-fold among women. In our view,WHR measurement is the method of choice for the determination of obesity among patients with CAD.

“…However, WC might under- and over-estimate central adiposity in short and tall individuals, respectively [ 10 ]. Therefore, different anthropometric indicators for body fat may play an important role in assessing adiposity and affect the prevalence of obesity [ 11 ]. So far, only few population-based studies have shown the prevalence of overweight and obesity using different adiposity indicators in Asian population [ 12 , 13 ].…”

“…Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology | www.frontiersin.org May 2022 | Volume 10 | Article 870049 9 cells modulate the surface of glomerular filtration and the glomerular capillary flow (Scindia et al, 2010). Any damage to mesangial cells, whether direct or indirect, is a key function in the growth of ESRD, resulting in hypertrophy, mesangial enlargement, extracellular matrix buildup, and cell proliferation (Tung et al, 2018). The potential of selectively regulating mesangial cells with a therapeutic drug administered externally is appealing as a novel treatment approach because they are important in the onset and DN progression (Alpers and Hudkins, 2018).…”
