“…Another study reported that taurine supplementation recovered mitochondrial damage in breast muscle induced by heat stress (Lu et al 2019). We speculate that the improved histomorphological features of the pectoral muscle in heat-stressed broiler in the present study could be due to the antioxidant effect of taurine (Xu et al 2020).…”

“…We did not find any published literature where muscle histomorphology has been investigated under supplementation of taurine in heatstressed broiler. Furthermore, most of the published studies are dealing with meat quality parameters such as cooking loss, shear force, meat colour and drip loss in broiler under supplementation of taurine (Huang et al 2014;Xu et al 2020). Therefore, it is difficult to pinpoint the exact mechanism of recovery of microscopic changes in muscle tissuesaffacted by heat-stress in the current study.…”

“…Dietary Tau is a sulfur-containing amino acid with vari ous biological functions, such as membrane stabilization, bile acid conjugation, vitagene activation, anti-inflammation, and immune stimulation in animals [ 18 , 19 ]. Dietary supplementation of 0.5% to 1.0% Tau has been reported to restore heat stress-induced growth impairments and physiological dysfunctions in broiler chickens [ 17 , 18 , 44 ].…”
