Dielectric and thermodynamic behavior of the system 1,1,1-trichloroethane-benzene-o-dichlorobenzene

Abstract: Measurements of the dielectric permittivity and loss at 20°at various wavelengths in the microwave region are reported for mixtures containing 1,1,1-trichloroethane, benzene, and o-dichlorobenzene. These data are fitted to a microscopic molecular model which assumes that the dielectric behavior is a superposition of Debye processes. The model parameters are interpreted in terms of molecular and liquid structure. The effect of long range dipole-dipole forces on the static and dynamic dielectric behavior is consi… Show more

“…Some H m E and V m E data have been published in the literature for 1,2-dichlorobenzene + benzene and 1,3dichlorobenzene + benzene at different temperatures. Turner et al 14 reported measurements of H m E for the system 1,1,1-trichloroethane + benzene + 1,2-dichlorobenzene at T ) 293.15 K. Mahl et al 15 H m E values for 1,2-dichlorobenzene + hexane and 1,3dichlorobenzene + hexane are positive for all of the compositions, and the maximum values are slightly higher for 1,2-dichlorobenzene + hexane. A different situation is found for V m E .…”
