Study on Excess Molar Enthalpies and Excess Molar Volumes of the Binary Systems 1,2-Dichlorobenzene + (Benzene, Hexane, 1-Chlorohexane) and 1,3-Dichlorobenzene + (Benzene, Hexane, 1-Chlorohexane) at 298.15 K

Abstract: Excess molar enthalpies, H m E , and excess molar volumes, V m E , have been measured at T ) 298.15 K and normal atmospheric pressure for the binary 1,2-dichlorobenzene + (benzene, hexane, or 1-chlorohexane) and 1,3-dichlorobenzene + (benzene, hexane, or 1-chlorohexane) systems using a Calvet microcalorimeter and a vibrating tube densimeter, respectively. The experimental values of H m E and V m E of the mixtures are found to be positive or negative depending on the type and magnitude of the interactions invol… Show more

“…Normally the enthalpic measurements are made over the entire binary composition range. There are a few data sets [61,64,[77][78][79][80]] that we found which provide experimental measurements at sufficient low mole fraction compositions where extrapolations to infinite dilution could be made to obtain enthalpies of solution of solutes dissolved in chlorobenzene and 1,2-dichlorobenzene at 298.15 K. In Table 6 we compare our measured Table 4 should be more than sufficient for developing meaningful…”

“…The mole fraction purities of the chemicals were as follows: >0.99 mole fraction for 1,2-dichlorobenzene and 1-chlorohexane (Fluka); >0.999 mole fraction for benzene (Aldrich). The densities of the pure liquids used have been published previously by Mato et al 1 The handling and disposal of the chemicals used has been done according to the recommendation of the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics. 13 Apparatus and Procedure.…”

“…This work reports experimental excess molar enthalpies and excess molar volumes for the ternary system {( x 1 )1,2-dichlorobenzene + ( x 2 )benzene + (1 − x 1 − x 2 )1-chlorohexane} and the involved binary mixture {( x )benzene + (1 − x )1-chlorohexane} at the temperature 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. The excess molar enthalpies and excess molar volumes for the binary mixtures {( x )1,2-dichlorobenzene + (1 − x )benzene} and {( x )1,2-dichlorobenzene + (1 − x )1-chlorohexane} were reported in an earlier work …”
